Lentil flatbread

This recipe is so easy, that it shouldn't actually be called a recipe. This Indian flatbread is made from lentils, water and herbs. That's all! Normally, these flatbreads are made from wheat flour, so this recipe is not only super nutritious (lentils are high in protein and iron), but also gluten-free. Eat your flatbread with a rice meal or as a snack with a filling of your choice!

Ingredients

  • 200 g of red lentils

  • 400 ml of water

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ½ tsp cumin powder

  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Actually, this recipe consists of two ingredients: red lentils and water. But for the taste we also add herbs. We choose garlic, turmeric and cumin here, but this is entirely according to your own interpretation.

Soak the lentils in the water for at least 2 hours. You can also leave it overnight. Add the herbs and blend until smooth.

Heat a pan over medium heat. Use a non-stick pan if you don't want to use oil. Otherwise, use a little olive oil and fry small pancakes from the batter. Continue until finished, stack the pancakes and eat tasty!
