Buddha bowl

Buddha bowls are very popular nowadays. This probably has something to do with how beautiful these colourful dishes look. But what exactly are buddha bowls? Buddha bowls are bowls full of grains, vegetables and protein-rich ingredients such as avocado, chicken and eggs. Together it forms a colourful, nutritious and tasty whole!

INGREDIENTS

  • Quinoa

  • Cucumber

  • Cherry tomatoes

  • Chickpeas

  • Kale

  • Raddichio Rosso (red lettuce)

  • Pomegranate seeds

  • Avocado

  • Option: chicken, tofu or an egg

PREPARATION

A buddha bowl is very easy to make. You are completely free in the ingredients that you put in your buddha bowl. As long as you select many different vegetables. It is mainly about the build-up.

The base of a buddha bowl often consists of grains (we chose quinoa here), followed by various vegetables: kale, cucumber, tomatoes, chickpeas and red lettuce. And finally the toppings, in this case slices of avocado, pomegranate seeds and possibly chicken, tofu or an egg.

You are also free in the dressing: a yoghurt or tahin dressing or a spoon of hummus!
